Federal Pell Grant Program

Federal Pell Grant Program

Brief Introduction of Federal Pell Grant Program

The Federal Pell Grants; formerly called Basic Educational Opportunity Grants (BEOGs) aims to support undergraduates demonstrating high financial need who have not yet attained a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree. Exceptionally, in some cases, those enrolled in post-baccalaureate teacher certification programs may qualify.

You will not be considered eligible if you meet either of the following circumstances: you are currently incarcerated in a federal or state correctional facility, or upon completion of your correctional sentence you will be subject to involuntary civil commitment due to a past sexual offense, whether forced or non-forced in nature. The Pell Grants helps undergraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds have access to and complete higher education. Eligibility is limited accordingly.
